General information

General characteristics

Most of the scallops available on the market are already from sustainable farming, an activity that is consolidating in Brazil. However, this bivalve mollusk has slow growth and requires transfer management. Many riverside dwellers who previously lived from extractive fishing are now mariculturists and mainly cultivate mussels, scallops, and oysters.
