General characteristics

It has transverse stripes on its body and its predominant color varies according to the substrate where it lives, ranging from brown to shades of blue. It is widely cultivated in Asia. In Brazil, there was an attempt to cultivate it in the 1970s, but without success. Therefore, the tiger shrimp we find in the Brazilian market comes from commercial fishing.
