Tilapia is the most cultivated species in Brazil, both in net tanks and in excavated ponds. In tilapia processing, everything is utilized: skin and scales are exported to the cosmetics industry, while heads, spines, and viscera are turned into fish oil and fishmeal, which are used in PET food.
