A very common fish on the Brazilian coast, it is caught using traditional methods and, despite not being commercially valued, has excellent flavor and is easily found in fish markets in coastal cities. Despite the bones, it is possible to extract a good amount of meat by using the correct filleting technique.

General characteristics
A coastal species, found in schools in shallow, calm waters. It feeds mainly on small fish. A very sporty fish. Its commercial value is low, although the meat is of good quality and common in markets. Its meat is very delicate, so it should be put on ice immediately after being caught.
