It is a small fish of the Carangidae family. It is highly appreciated by chefs, especially those specializing in seafood. Very traditional in local coastal communities, the scad is part of the history of the "caiçara" communities. Pequeno e saboroso! Carapau na brasa ou sashimi.

Um peixe fantástico. Pequeno mas com bastante carne. Faz parte da cultura das comunidades caiçaras.

Carapau Fantástico

Imagine um peixe pequeno e espetacular. Espalmado na Brasa o Carapau é imbátivel. Uma técnica é secar bem a pele antes de por na brasa, fica crocante e não gruda na grelha.

A migratory species, it lives in bays, on coasts, and near islands, reaching 70 cm in length and up to 5kg. Adults feed on fish, squid, crustaceans, and other invertebrates.
