Shark
Shark
"Cação" is the generic/commercial name for various species of sharks and even rays. Regardless of whether it's small or large, juvenile or adult, or whether it was caught near the coast or in the open sea. It has a strong-flavored meat, and when not well preserved, it smells of ammonia. Generally, it has very attractive prices, but... it might be an endangered species. Exercise great caution when buying "cação."
