Its meat is light-colored, attractive, and excellent for grilling. It resembles Gadus Morhua, but originates from the North Pacific. One way to differentiate the two is by their tails and fins, which in Macrocephalus have white trim at the tips. It is very light in color and narrower than the others.

General characteristics

The other difference is in color: Gadus Macro has much lighter skin. In addition, it doesn't flake perfectly, so it's best prepared in large pieces.
